A valid search is when you view a list of results and then start an analysis (Get Sentiment for Google or Get Highlights for Amazon) that returns at least one result.

An invalid search occurs when you perform a search that either: - Produces no results in the listing stage, or - Produces results but no analysis is started.

After 10 invalid searches (Google or Amazon combined), 1 query will be deducted automatically

Note: - Google and Amazon analyses only consume queries when valid.

How queries are used: Google Places and Amazon product analyses consume queries.

Each Google analysis provides a full sentiment summary and lets you publish one structured review for that place. Each Amazon analysis provides predicted sentiment and highlights and also lets you publish one structured review for that product.

Purchasing any query package also includes access to our Review Pool.

In short: Scale → 4.0+ = Positive, 3.0–3.9 = Neutral (on Amazon: Mixed), <3.0 = Negative.

For Google places

  • Global signal: The public Google star rating (long-term crowd opinion).
  • Sample signal: The tone of the specific reviews fetched for this page.
  • We combine both. If they disagree, you’ll usually see a normal label plus a small trend badge (e.g., “Recent feedback skews negative”).
  • Caution appears only when the disagreement is strong and the recent sample is very small; otherwise we keep the combined label.
  • The original Global rating is shown under the title.

For Amazon products

  • From the product title/category, we infer what buyers typically praise or criticize and provide a brief summary, likely strengths, and likely weaknesses.
  • From these signals we predict a sentiment score (1–5). If pros and cons are balanced, the label may be Mixed.
  • We do not quote individual reviews; we summarize patterns.

All reviews you’ve submitted are visible in your personal dashboard — but only if they’ve received at least one like. This allows you to track which of your insights resonate most with the Sentiwise community and also helps you earn bonus queries.

💡 Tip: You can like your own review to make it appear in your personal dashboard for easier tracking of future likes.

To continue using these features, you will need to purchase additional queries.

We currently use Amazon.com because it provides the broadest product coverage and global relevance. Support for other Amazon regions may be added based on demand.
